Stephanie M. Whidden brings 40 years of vast experience to her work as an attorney specializing in real estate law, estate planning, and estate administration. Her practice has been shaped by a desire to make work "what you want it to be"'— in her case, providing effective, affordable legal services to others in her community. Stephanie was drawn to a career in law at age twelve, inspired by her grandfather's work as a highly respected lawyer in San Francisco. With this goal in mind, she graduated early from high school and college before entering law school at the University of San Francisco. She supported herself by working as an ice cream maker at the famous Botts Ice Cream in Berkeley (fun fact: she got paid by the gallon).

After working at law firms in San Francisco, Stephanie landed in the Hudson Valley quite literally by accident - she was injured during a ski trip in the Catskills and, while recovering, decided to study for the New York State Bar. It didn't take long for her to fall in love with the natural beauty of Ulster County and make it her home.

Stephanie spent twelve years working at a large local firm before starting her practice in historic and picturesque uptown Kingston; her prior areas of practice include property management, municipal counsel, securities exchange arbitration, commercial litigation, and mediation.

In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys running, cycling, climbing, gardening, and generally being surrounded by nature and wildlife. She believes that by integrating the personal activities that keep her balanced, she's empowered to do her best work on behalf of her clients.
